It has been a busy time, and here are some of the reasons why.

I am the subject of a feature article in the February issue of Ceramics Monthly. It was a great experience to work with the author Katey Schultz who had several insightful questions about my process, ideas and pots. It is a generous spread that includes images of my work over time.  Apologies as the article is not accessible online without a subscription.

My article ‘Open Door Policy’ is in the current issue of Studio Potter focused on the theme of generation. I write about the influence of studio environment in the classroom and how my undergraduate experience with Mike Thiedeman at Earlham College effect my teaching goals today.


I am happy to announce that I have been invited to participate in two super annual events.

double badgeIn April I will be a guest artist at the studio of Tom White as part of the Asparagus Valley Potters Trail April 26 and 27. Then in May, it’s off to Austin to be a part of Art of the Pot over Mother’s Day weekend.


This summer I will be teaching “Cut, Paste, Process” at the Appalachian Center for Craft from June 20 – 22.I will also be at the University of Colorado, Boulder as a visiting artist April 11 and 12.

Last year we bought a house in Marlboro, Vermont and immediately went to work designing and building our own studio. Sam and I are taking it slow through the winter and are thankful to the many friends and colleagues that have generously donated their time to this effort.
